Mustapha Mezianis Twomonth Hunger Strike Caused His Deaht Ministry

Rabat – The persistence of convict Mustapha Meziani to continue his hunger strike of over two months and the complications it entailed left no chance to save his life, said the health ministry on Friday.Mustapha Meziani died on Wednesday at the Fez Hassan II University Hospital following complications due to the failure of all his internal organs, said the ministry in a statement, adding that the inmate had all necessary health care and medical check-ups.Medical teams made huge efforts to save the patient’s life but the persistence of Mustapha Meziani to continue his hunger strike worsened his health condition causing a severe failure of all his internal organs, said the ministry. Meziani, aged 30, was put behind bars on July 11 upon the order of the examining magistrate at the Fez appeal court for taking part in premeditated murder.
