first_imgBuncrana Parish priest Fr Francis Bradley has said the Church will not stand in the way of a local cinema showing Fifty Shades of Grey – if they ever get a copy of it.Fr Bradley was reacting to yesterday’s claims that Cinema Inishown, which is located in St Mary’s Hall, had ben banned from screening the steamy movie. It later transpired that the reason Christian Grey won’t be appearing in Buncrana is because the cinema committee could not agree a deal with the distributor. The cinema committee lease the hall from the Diocese of Derry. But Fr Bradley said they will not interfere with what went on at the cinema.“I don’t know the operating of the cinema at all,” he said. “It’s a free world in which people make decisions themselves. The parish would have an interest in what would happen there, but the cinema makes its own decisions.”However, Fr Bradley said he did not intend to see the film himself. “It is not something that I would recommend. There is enough violence in the world without people indulging in more violence. If you are asking my recommendations, I’d say no.”Fifty Shades of Grey goes on release on February 14th. CHURCH WON’T STAND IN WAY OF CINEMA SHOWING 50 SHADES – IF THEY EVER GET A COPY! was last modified: February 6th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:buncranaCinema InishowenFifty Shades Of GreyFr Liam Bradleylast_img
